BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) covers men’s cutting, styling and grooming techniques and provides the hands-on experience required to work in any top barbershop or salon as a barber. All training for BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) is conducted at both the Fitzroy and City-based BIBA Academy campuses.

- Shampoo and basin services
- Traditional and classic men’s cutting techniques
- Modern men’s cutting techniques
- Scissor-over-comb
- Clipper-over-comb
- Clipper work
- Finishing techniques
- Detailing techniques
- Beard and moustache trims
- Finishing and styling techniques
- Shaving with a straight razor
Duration
The Certificate III in Barbering involves 790 nominal hours delivered at either three, four days or five days per week. At three days per week, the course is estimated to take 12 months. At four days per week, the course is estimated to take nine months. At five days per week, the course is estimated to take seven months. Please note that all new full-time students in 2024 will be required to attend three days per week on Monday, Thursday and Friday unless otherwise arranged.
Enrolments
Enrolments are taken on a monthly basis. Enrolments are accepted upon receipt of a completed enrolment form, payment of deposit, enrolment fee and overseas student health insurance and a satisfactory TOEFL score of 500 and IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent).
Cost
$14,060.00 AUD (subject to change). Students have the option to pay a lump sum or instalments depending on their individual circumstances. The cost of the course includes the following:
- $250.00 Enrolment fee for COE (non-refundable and GST- free)
- $530.00 BIBA Academy online learning resources (non-refundable and includes GST)
- $240.00 Student Service and Amenities Fee (non-refundable and includes GST)
- $1,190.00 Full Equipment Kit – (non-refundable, subject to change and includes GST)
- $11,850.00 Training investment (GST- free)
